In November 2008, the wild optimism of the Roaring Twenties will blossom in Montreal, just long enough to leave behind a hint
of decadence at the Cabaret du Casino! With the right dose of nostalgia and light-heartedness, the variety show Les Folles
années folles will recapture a particularly exciting page in history: the inter‑war years…
Featuring actor-singer Paul Doucet (Les 3 P’tits cochons, Jean Duceppe, Cabaret, Fortier, Casino 2), Geneviève Bilodeau (Ann
Victor, Virginie, Rue L’Espérance) and Émilie Josset (Sweet Charity, Neuf, Dalida, Chicago), Les Folles années folles is above
all a tribute to an era bustling with action and upheaval. It was a time when the economy was in full swing, individual liberties
were flourishing and music in all its forms was spreading its wings… One thing’s for sure, the songs then had a certain quality
that warmed the heart and got people dancing.
Complete with radio spots featuring the hot news of the era, the show will be chockfull of unforgettable songs that made it
big during those boisterous years: Quand Madelon, Valentine, Le temps des cerises, J’ai deux amours, Qu’est‑ce qu’on attend,
Y a d’la joie, Parlez‑moi d’amour, Le petit vin blanc and many more!
Created and produced by Lorraine Beaudry (formerly of the Théâtre du Rideau Vert), Les Folles années folles will also bear
the signatures of Pierre Benoît (pianist and musical director) and Louise Lussier (choreographer). Take a thrilling trip down
memory lane starting on November 12th at the Cabaret du Casino.
