By combining a three-card hand and two of the dealer's cards, to obtain a five-card poker hand with a rank of a pair of 10s or higher.

The Cards

Grand Prix Poker (Let it Ride) is played with one standard deck of 52 card. In decreasing order, the rank of the cards is as follows: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2. An Ace may be used to complete an Ace-2-3-4-5 straight or straight flush.

The Bets

Using value chips purchased from the dealer, each player places three distinct bets of equal value. The bets must be placed on the designated areas on the layout before the dealer announces "Rien ne va plus" (No more bets) and the cards are dealt. Bets must be made in accordance with the minimum and maximum limits indicated at the table. Each player is permitted to play only one hand per game.

The Deal

The dealer distributes three cards, face down, to each player in turn, and also deals himself three cards, face down. Two of the dealer's three cards will serve as community cards, that is, all players will be using them to complete their five-card hand.

The Hands

After having examined his three cards, each player has the option of letting his three bets ride or requesting that one or two of them be withdrawn, as indicated below. To withdraw a bet, the player must signal his intention to the dealer by scratching the layout. He must not withdraw his bet himself. Players are not authorized to show their cards nor to discuss them with other players.

Player's options

• 1st bet: the player has the option of letting his first bet ride or requesting that it be withdrawn without seeing any of the community cards. Once all players have acted on their first bet, the dealer discards one of his three cards and reveals one of the two remaining cards.
• 2nd bet: the player has the option of letting his second bet ride or requesting that it be withdrawn after having seen the first community card. Once all players have acted on their second bet, the dealer reveals his second card.
• 3rd bet: the player must let his third bet ride.

The Combinations

The ranking of Grand Prix Poker combinations, in decreasing order, is as follows:

Royal flush: Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10 of the same suit.

Straight flush: five cards of the same suit in consecutive order.

Four of a kind: four cards of the same rank.

Full house: three-of-a-kind and a pair.

Flush: five cards of the same suit.

Straight: five cards in consecutive order, regardless of suit.

Three of a kind: three cards of the same rank.

Two pair: two sets of two cards of the same rank.

Pair: two cards of the same rank.
