Lisa Gary (trio)
September 17, 18 and 24, 2010

Only 20 years old, Lisa Gary is a young singer from New York. She was recently selected from hundreds of aspiring performers
throughout the world as a finalist in Switzerland's Festival de Montreux jazz vocal contest.
Lisa grew up in a suburb of New York, immersed in her father's passion for jazz – in fact, he was her first trumpet teacher
– and then studied classical and jazz music with Vice Penzarella, from the New York Philarmonic. After winning prizes from
the National Foundation on the Advancement of the Arts and the New York State School Music Association at the tender age of 17,
she moved to Montréal to study at McGill University, where she has just completed her Bachelor's degree in jazz music.
Recently discovered by renowned Montréal pianist Anthony Rosencovich, with whom she worked on a Radio‑Canada soundtrack production,
Lisa is now ready for the stage with her new quintet, Lisa and the Trampolines.
